PPI reburse RBS and DRO

Hi,
I have  accepted PPI offer from RBS, I had a text saying that they cant pay me at the moment whilst they do further arrea and insolvancy checks? (I had a DRO 3 yrs ago which included Natwest/RBS.  Will RBS reimburse me or keep the money for themselves? Also how long do these checks take?

Many Thanks KT

If they have right of set off, then they’ll likely keep any funds back to cover what you owe them. If your redress is more than what you owe you might get some back, if not then you won’t see a penny.

did you use a claims management company? If so, expect a bill from them even if you don’t see a penny from RBS.

checks can take days or weeks, depending on how busy they are. Given the current situation though with people off work with coronavirus, plus any further enforced work closures you could be waiting a while.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'

Their terms and conditions give them the right to set off.
  • Even though its been 3 yrs and they were written off? :(
So basically I may as well forget about it

If there is a remaining debt, any redress will be used against that.

Writing off a debt does not mean the money isn't still owed, it just means they won't pursue you for it. By complaining you've given them a reason to look to recoup that debt using any redress if the complait is successful.

You might just as well ask yourself what gives you the right to expect a refund of money you never paid in the first place... ;)
