Tesco petrol contamination

I’ve had an incident with Tesco petrol station and the unleaded tank had diesel - Tesco have admitted liability and I’ve had a letter from their insurance company with an offer to cover my costs and an offer of £25 good will gesture.  Honestly I think £25 is an insult considering the hassle this caused, and my partner giving me hassle for putting diesel in the car!!  has anyone else had any better offers?  Is this standard?

Well what exactly is the hassle?
    You need to quantify that.

The hassle was breaking down in traffic, having to call recovery services, being without the car for two days while it was being fixed and having to find £250 to pay the garage ...

£25 sounds reasonable then, take them to court otherwise, the £250 you paid you were re-imbursed surely.

Your hire car costs and the garage cost are covered by them. So it's just the minor waste-of-time (an hour or three?) of having to call out your breakdown cover people.

If you chose not to hire a car for the time, then the disruption to your routine can't have been that great.
