Changing Minor's middle name by Deed Poll - Advice needed please

It isn't a re-registration (that has a specific meaning & criteria), it is a separate process that allows a name to be changed within 12 months   ....just ask the register office, they will explain (there will be a cost involved).

Thank you I will call them tomorrow to discuss as there is nothing on their website.

So as per the above comments I have to go to the City where he was borns registry office, fill in a form and his name will be changed in approx 3 days. I need to pay £40 + £11 for amended Birth Certificate.

You could fill out the necessary forms at a registration office nearer to you if that is more convenient and they would send them on to the office that holds the original register to make the change and issue a new certificate. It would add a few days to the process, but can be done.

Thank you for letting me know! It's no bother it's just the next town over but good to know for anyone else reading this thread.
