Is anyone having issues with cynergy banking. I transferred money into my new account and can’t even log in - easy access supposedly, not good enough. Worst experience

- Why can't you log in?
- When could you last log in?
- When did you open the account?
- How much did you deposit, when?

Just signed in easily using their Authenticator app."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Today, the 14th, is the day you have to start using their app to log in - perhaps they’d pressed the ‘go’ button a couple of hours early.0

I can't login either. Have only recently transferred ISA funds to Cynergy and only have an email to show that they have received it. No paperwork, no account number and no access to account. And, yes, I have repeatedly tried to phone to order a 'digipass' but can't hold on the line forever. Anyway, apparently digipasses won't become available until June earliest now. Categorically, I don't intend to do anything with money on a mobile phone so have no choice but to transfer ISA again, I guess.

Besides your somewhat illogical refusal to use a mobile for banking as a matter of principle, what issues did you have with the authenticator? It doesn't do any 'banking' on your mobile, it just verifies that you are who you say you are. Surely you should be delighted that there is another huge hurdle for fraudsters to overcome if they want to break into your online account? Also, like it or not, 2-factor authentication is the law, and you will shortly not find any provider who is not using it. Very, very few of them will offer physical devices for the authentication. You are very severely limiting your choices if you insist on not using digital methods.jawling said:Categorically, I don't intend to do anything with money on a mobile phone so have no choice but to transfer ISA again, I guess.0 -
Thanks. And fair enough for pointing out that it's only an authenticator app, not a mobile banking one. Not that they make it very clear. I know it's essential to have a mobile phone to authenticate many logins. I accept that and have used my mobile for that purpose for ages. But please see the thoroughly dire reviews, both on Trustpilot and on Google PlayStore, of the way Cynergy Bank has gone about making this change with appallingly short notice and how difficult it can be to get their app up and running - let alone get hold of a digipass. Sorry, but it's not on.

Generally speaking, people only post reviews when they are dissatisfied. I have seen some of the negative reviews, and tbh, I don't understand most of them. Those that I have seen appear to be from geeks who disagree with the approach Cynergy took; for most of them, the technology and implementation not sexy enough. Others complain that they can't now use Cynergy on a phone only - which is a valid complaint but not one that would stop you from using it as you don't want to use the actual Cynergy banking on the phone.jawling said:But please see the thoroughly dire reviews, both on Trustpilot and on Google PlayStore, of the way Cynergy Bank has gone about making this change with appallingly short notice and how difficult it can be to get their app up and running - let alone get hold of a digipass. My experience is that the Cynergy authenticator app is dead simple to download and and to use, and I think this is mainly echoed by other Cynergy customers who have posted here on MSE.
What happened when you tried downloading and using it?0
