How many times do we have to say to people to take out insurance as soon as you book? Most if not all insurers are now avoiding cover for Corona, if it passes, and it should have done by September, then cover may return but with no insurance at all, what happens if in the meantime you need to cancel due to redundancy, or illness?

As above. Take out insurance now, but accepting that it will probably be expensive and certainly won't cover Covid-19 matters.

Next time, take out cover the day you book. It's a trivial sum in the context of the holiday cost and I don't understand why people spend thousands on a holiday but scrimp on paying less than £100 for insurance there and then.

Is it a package that you booked? With a travel agent? How did you pay?
Insurance probably won’t allow you to book now to cover Coronavirus.
If it’s a package then you may be able to amend the booking.
