At fault company vehicle driver wants to pay damage repair without involving his company
Our company vehicle was clipped in a filling station whilst our driver was in the shop paying for fuel. The driver of the 'at fault' vehicle wants us to contact him directly to pay for the repairs. He does not want us to contact his company. I don't know if he's worried he may lose his job or what.
Should I ignore his wishes and get in touch with his company? I am concerned that if he doesn't pay at the end of the day we will be at fault by not contacting his company and our insurers straight away.
Any advice please.

Inform your own insurance company - he could deny all knowledge of the incident.
He may well have been driving the vehicle with no insurance - hyis own company policy could exclude insurance in the circumstances in which he was driving and that may be why he made his offer.
Also, if he should later on dispute anything then the petrol station should have security cameras recording what goes on on the forecourt so your insurers could get a copy of any footage to verify what you say.0 -
I agree. These private arrangements end in grief far too often.
