Primark - Exchange after 28 days due to illness

Options
Hi, hoping you can help with a query we have with Primark.
My 3 daughters had £400 vouchers to spend in Primark for Christmas, all good and all spent!
The issue is that we have is that we need to exchange some items. Plans were to do this within the 28 days, but my Wife has been, and still is in hospital due to a deteration in her health and my time has been with my Wife and trying to get some 'normality' with my Daughters, and Primark are not willing to extend this period.
I have emailed but they are not willing to budge, we are only looking for an exchange.
Is there anything anybody can recommend?
Thanks

Post them to a friend to return for a credit note?
  • I need to take my Daughters with me so they can try the clothes on again. This is where the time comes into it as we are spending every hour we can with my Wife, their Mum.

Don't you get a new 28 day exchange period for the replacement items?
Ultimately though the risk of a family illness is your own, not something the retailer has to bear.

Also, remember under your consumer rights you have no right to any refund for something bought in store (for a change of mind.) So Primark's 28 day exchange is an added bonus which they can police as they want. That said, if you write to head office with your story they might bend the rules. Worth a try.

Just go and get a credit note then
And if you can't go then get a relative/ friend to go on your behalf.
