O/S Daily Friday 13 March 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning message.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work, and I'm bathed, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Now light, dry underfoot but has been very blustery again.
Dinner last night was ham, cheese and mushroom omelette, jacket wedges, HM potato salad - DH moaned, I ignored, I had side salad with mine, DS1 ate it all. Tonight will be a quick and easy shove in the oven meal.
Yesterday I did get done some of what I wanted, but I stripped our bed, and it was a bit too much and I spent the next little while having to take it really steady due to back pain - lesson learnt, although I'm better than I was I'm not recovered!
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, take it easy.
Belated Happy Birthday TA, hope you had a lovely day.
Hope the bags are of use RR.
Thinking of you Nanny.
Beautiful start to the day, it's getting light and is set to be a bright sunny day for a change. I may take Sophie out for a walk later, she's 6 months old today!
I need to do housework later, I have visitors all weekend and don't want them signing their name in the dust!
Happy Friday, take care. XX16 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A nice bright start here but still blooming cold.
I had a lovely day yesterday. The food in Angelica is beautiful but we could have done with the portion sizes a tad bigger! Quite pricey but a lovely restaurant. We called in The Alchemist for cocktails afterwards. It was like being in a science lab and fascinating to watch them being made! Again pricey but these places usually are. Then back at DD's it was pizzas all round - with more wine and chocs. This morning I feel a bit bleurgh but only myself to blame!
So after 3 days of gluttony the healthy eating plan is out of storage - again! It's supposed to be the Friday Tidy but it may get postponed until tomorrow! Off shopping this afternoon. Leaving it so late I think I may be faced with some empty shelves but we'll see. I hope they have smoked haddock today.as last week there was very little wet fish of any sort for some reason.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. REDRUBY is it today you get the bone scan result? Fingers crossed for you. Take care one and all and have a good day if you can xx

Good morning, looks fine out there this morning. Yesterday morning was fine mainly but the wind was freezing, then in the afternoon the rain started.RR, I'll be thinking of you as ever, I think you go for your bone scan results today.Nels, your consultant sounds uncaring, horrible man. I broke my arm badly and was in hospital for a week, and the consultant spoke to me like I was something on the sole of his shoe. Hope you're ok,well as ok as possible.Glad you enjoyed your birthday TA.Nanny, hope you've come down off the ceiling. I used to have an obstinate know it all old dad, and to be honest there were times when I could have choked him. (sorry Dad!!)I went out yesterday, we had so much chazzer stuff we had to take the car!! I've since cleared out more books, but can carry those. Monna yes, it's a nice feeling when you see empty and tidy space!Hand wash seems to have disappeared from the shops here, but I've got spare bottles, then quite a bit of bar soap.Anyway, Hope everyone has a good Friday.Take care folks16

Morning all.
Very, very quick post from me as my friend always picks me up at 9.30 on a Friday to visit T*c*s. Thrilling! I don't always want much but having the car to bring it home is such a bonus.
nmlc, next time your DH moans about your menus send him down to me. He would soon be back uttering abject apologies and desperate to make amends.
Camelot, signing their name in the dust is one thing, finding the word '!!!!!!' written on the TV is another. I suspect my ex DH. There are reasons why he is my ex.
TA, so glad you enjoyed your day yesterday. Is it back to earth with a bump today?
I'll be back later to catch up on people.
Would you like a joke? This went down very well on another forum where I give them a Thought for the Day.
My doctor told me to start killing people.
Well, not in those exact words.
He said I needed less stress in my life.
Same thing really.I believe that friends are quiet angels

This wretched thing ate my post.
So I'll confine myself to wishing everyone well and,TA happy birthday for yesterday.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
Morning all
Well today is the dress fitting and i feel a lot calmer. Yesterday didn't go as planned as DD2 missed her appointment at the registry office as the trains were delayed (she had been up to London to see her BF so they could agree planno answer at the registry office so DS and I had 3 phones constantly calling the numbers managed to change it to a bit later but she was worried she would miss her theatre trip with my mum to London its something they do every year so cue mums taxi picked her up from town drove to mums picked her up and dropped them at the station luckily they made it in good time and saw The Prince of Egypt which they both said was very good . You really couldn't make this wedding planning up i know we will laugh in years to come but boy my hair is turning grey. We are going to go and have a look at the registry office after and see my mums neighbour about the catering .
TA sounds like you have had a great few days
Ruby good luck today with the results of the scan
Gers the building work seems to be coming along well
Nels keep up the good work
Hugs to all who are looking after poorlies and those who are unwell themselves . Extra strength to all those who need it. Have a great day whatever you are up to

TA, I'm sorry, I missed saying happy birthday yesterday.
I seem to have self-isolated myself very effectively, I didn't go out again yesterday. Not that I have any symptoms of anything I just decided it wasn't worth the risk of infection without good reason. Central Bedfordshire seems to be one of the few places in England without a confirmed case, I don't know if that says something about the testing because an awful lot of people commute to London from here.
Laura and Brian are off to the Yorkshire house today and we'll join them on Monday for a few days, until then things will be very quiet.14 -
Morning,
Lovely sunshine now, although it was raining earlier. I shall hang out this load of washing that is in the WM, as rain not due now until very late evening.
After work I need to pay a bill and also buy a birthday card and small gift, I will also see if I can stock up a little in T's depending what they have in there shelves
Happy Friday everyone

Camelot I loved the bags (I did post something on the daily yesterday but Im not sure you would have seen it) they are beautifully made, and they will come in handy for my drains xx
Beautiful bright sunny day here will hang the washing out for a while once its done, going to have a quick tidy round this morning and then Im off to get my nails done, I have treated myself since Ive not been at work and I must say my nails are looking good for it, its a little boost for me.

Good luck for the bone scan RedRuby xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.13
