Balance with TUI due next week

Next week I have to pay the remainder of our holiday balance with TUI for our trip to Ibiza in July. We've only paid £100 deposit so far so we're thinking of cancelling it.
I'd still really like to go but the Mrs isn't keen. We should be covered with TUI in case anything happens, right?
Would you pay the remaining balance or forget about the holiday and take the hit on the £100?

Depends on the cancellation terms for TUI , if you only lose the £100 then fine but if you are required to pay the balance then no
Not all travel insurance covers costs from FCO advice , it's an add on to my insuranceEx forum ambassador

Might be worth double checking what deposit you have paid and what is actually legally due if you cancel. With the amount mentioned I suspect you have paid under a low-deposit scheme. The full deposit is higher typically and you may be due paying that extra amount to TUI even if you cancel. Keep in mind when making your decision.
July is a long time off. A lot can happen. You are however in a good place having a package holiday with TUI booked. If things have really escalated by the time of your holiday and travel to Ibiza is advised against by the FCO then TUI will refund you your holiday cost.1 -
Read the Terms and Conditions !
As above, if you paid with a low deposit it is highly likely you will be liable for the FULL deposit if you cancel for your own reasons.0 -

Hi, I am in a similar situation with TUI. Full deposit paid. Need to pay the balance by the end of March, for travel in June. What if TUI go under would we still get a refund from somewhere?0

Yes, pay it. As advised to the 50 people who have started threads on the exact same subject.0

Pay by credit card.
