Hi
Any of your kids gone through the RAD pre-primary ballet exam.........I have not really paid much attention to her ballet class as its closed doors, but now been told my 5 year old is good enough to do the exam - and I am doing the normal parent thing of not wanting her to fail !!! Bad parent !!! Any ideas of what is involved?

Not yet... (my daughter is 4) but they generally would not enter a child unless they were ready.
Also, what is wrong with failure??? It is part of life, a process we learn from and a skill to be mastered!!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)2 -
I don’t think anyone taking such exams can actually fail them. It’s a money making Ponzi scheme...0

Do they offer pre-primary as an exam? I think it is an introduction to the exam system for students - and parents! - without pass and fail.

My daughter did several cheerleading exams when she was about 9. Nobody in the class failed. I'm fairly sure so long as you turn up, smile and move about a bit, you can't really go wrong at that age. They did grade each person differently e.g. Distinction, merit, pass etc. I have to say, I did think it was a money making thing as we had to pay to take part and for the badge. A ballet certificate is of no use to a 5 year old. Maybe ask her if she wants to do it.0

That's how it used to be, It changed in 2016-17, or thereabouts. Pre-primary is now what Primary used to be and they have a Presentation Class (or something like that) for what Pre-Primary used to be. Children now have to be 5 to take PP, whereas my daughter took it younger than that. PP is now taken with a RAD examiner rather than the class teacher, although the class teacher leads the participants.theoretica said:Do they offer pre-primary as an exam? Ballet is a little different, Grade exams follow GCSE/A Levels equivalence with Grades 6, 7 and 8 awarding UCAS points.Fireflyaway said:My daughter did several cheerleading exams when she was about 9.
