Refund - lost credit card detail

I am expecting a few refund into my credit card due to the travel ban.
However the credit card detail that is on the record are no longer in use as I have lost that credit card, and recieved a new credit card from nationwide.
Now, I have rang them and they said the refund will be able to put it back, as they have 'merge' the old card detail into the new card.
I just want to check with you wonderful helpful people in the forum that this is the case.

YES.
Payments to old cards are transferred across to the new card. Might take a bit longer depending on if it's system based or a manual process.Life in the slow lane0
