Check out fees return?

I’m renewing my tenancy and I’ve done a comparison of my contract. In line with the ban on fees lots of the text has changed. However, there remains a check out fee. Not only this, but the few has gone up from £100 to £150.
Are they allowed to do this? Grateful for any thoughts/knowledge.

Nope, that is now a prohibited payment, give them a call and ask that it is removed0

For contracts signed pre June 2019 if fees are mentioned in the contract they can be charged until June 2020.

Whether it is removed or not you won't have to pay it. And asking may (or may not) alienate the LL/agent. Just let it go.

Because by having it in the agreement is a breach of the Legislation, now this isn't the tenants concern but why make a song and dance about it. Bring to the agents attention and ask them to remove it or just cross it out prior to signing.greatcrested said:Nope, that is now a prohibited payment, give them a call and ask that it is removedHmmmm... why? I have a similar question if someone wouldn't mind checking out my post from yesterday. Thanks
