Holiday Request Timescales

Hi,

I am wondering if there are any government policies around the time it takes for an employer to come back to accept or deny a holiday. My Partners ex husband works for AA at the call centres, and its a nightmare for him to book holidays. He says he puts in a request for a holiday, but it will be months before they say whether he can have it, or if its denied.

This is for when he is meant to be taking my step daughter away, and for us to book a holiday. However it makes it a nightmare to try and pre-book anything.

Is he just being awkward about this / his boss being awkward? Or is there any rules around this?

Thanks
Kyle
