Buying a house , But I won’t live in it for now!

Would an option be buying very close to where your Nan lives, so you could spend time in both houses? You might need some private space of your own, but without more background info it's hard to know what's feasible/appropriate.As a carer, I found the worst part was travel between where I lived and where I was needed; a distance of 10 miles over busy and slow roads, sometimes several times a day..You may currently be saving huge amounts of money living with Nan. We don't know your circumstances, but buying and running a house as a single person today can be financially demanding. One half-way house could be taking a lodger under the Government's rent a room scheme, which you can Google. That would mean someone sharing some of the costs involved, but without any long term commitment on your part .2

Strange! Why was my post above 'reported'? Did I cross a line somehow?

Not me this time, but I have sometimes accidentally clicked on things like report bottons while using mobile devices - usually I notice and undo it though!greatcrested said:Strange! Why was my post above 'reported'? Did I cross a line somehow?

I know why. And no, it 100% was not me. I would be fighting your corner if I knew who did it.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*2
