Holiday price reductions

I booked a holiday in January, 2 weeks in Tenerife in July for £3399.
Guy in work said prices have come down, probably due to Coronavirus.  Exact same holiday is now £2830. Cost £40 per person admin fee to make the change, saved £450

Make sure you get insurance.  I wouldn't be certain it'll go ahead so important to be insured.

My Jet2 flights for May have gone up by £106.50 each.

About to say, I booked a holiday last week for next Feb half term with them, just looked again and they have crept up another £40pp each.

Thinking aloud, as A_D above alludes to - how might that impact on your travel  insurance ?

Is this considered a new booking - and what impact might that have on your policy Ts&Cs due to insurance companies no longer accepting coronavirus for holidays booked after a specific date ?
