Hi,
FTB here. The agent just told me that they do not take the property off the market until the survey is done. She wants me to ring my broker and speed up the mortgage application but I am worried what if another offer comes while I am waiting for my mortgage offer and my effort and resources will be wasted. Pls advise, Ty!

I think there’s always a risk of being gazumped right up until exchange anyway. You just have to go for some things.Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700
Mortgage ends Aug 2050 MFW: Aug 2027
Current Balance: £58,678
MFW2020 #156 £723.13
MFW2021 #26 £1184.71
MFW2022 #11 £197.87
MFW2023 £785
MFW 2024 £528.15Determined to make it!0 -
Anybody else faces the same challenges as you do. The property will be marked as under offer.0

Pls advise, Ty!Contact the seller (they live at the property?) and tell them you will progress asap, but only if the property is taken off the market. It's the seller's decision - not their agent's.Or do as the aent suggesed: "ring my broker and speed up the mortgage application" or contact your surveyor and push for an early survey date. If he's too busy, change surveyor?

Seems a perfectly reasonable requirement to me.

I think what the estate agent has suggested is sensible. I once waited three weeks for a DIP from someone - if you want my house, you'll need to get your application in and valuation booked!0
