Beware of setting up Britsh Gas utilities via money saving expert.
I did this earlier this week, and instead of setting gas and electricity at my new address they have set up a HomeCare insurance account. There seemed to be some confusion becuase I'd asked them to close the account for my previous address and I was hopeful that it would be resolved but instead I've spent 45 mintues on a chat with three different British Gas operators and the transfer to a fourth says that there are no operators available. I don't know whether my previous acount has been closed, if they are setting up gas and electricity (as requested via money saving expert ) , where they got the authorisation to set up HomeCare insurance on my account and whether this is going to be cancelled.

Just checkingYou have moved - Did close your BG account on the day you moved and give them a meter reading ?Did you contact the current supplier to your new home, tell them you had moved in and give them the meter reads? The rule is that on moving in, YOU MUST inform the dwellings present supplier - Once they have opened an account for you, you are free to move to a different supplier0
