Axa Silver - Coronavirus cover - MSE recommended - but does it actually cover?

Hi,
Travelling to Spain in May, flights & hotel purchased separately. Following the advice in the MSE newsletter, purchased Axa Silver Travel insurance as it covers Hotel costs if the Flight is cancelled.
However, the following notes are on Axa's FAQ's re Coronovirus - people will probably interpret it differently, however as cases have already been reported in Spain and I have only just purchased the insurance, then any claim in effect isn't covered? I.e. Come May and the FOC advise against travel to Spain - Flight OK as reimbursed by the Airline, but my claim for Hotel costs could be rejected as an 'outbreak' had been reported prior to insurance purchase..?

"I am booked to travel to a country that has reported numerous cases. Can I buy travel insurance now?".
"Travel insurance protects against unexpected events. If you buy a policy for a destination where an outbeak has been reported or regulatory advice is already in place, then coronavirus claims will not be considered".

It appears you are not covered due to the retrospective policy issue. ?Best call AXA for a definitive position.0

Of course you are not covered, do not cancel.0

I'd say the chances of any holidays to Spain going ahead in May are slim.
Insurers stopped covering Coronavirus related claims when it became a known event. Mine uses a cut-off date of 13th March. If either the insurance or holiday was bought after that I am not covered.0 -
Going to Spain in May will not happen unfortunately.
