Travel Insurance over a yer in Advance

As the title really. We have a cruise booked for April 2021. After booking I went to get insurance with my usual provider, but it would only allow dates a year in advance, so I left it.

Have tried online with several providers this morning, and all seem to be the same. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy insurance this far ahead?

Rang one provider this morning - or tried to. We gave up after nearly an hour on hold as they're understandable very busy.

Presumably you don't have any insurance currently. Your option is to take out an annual policy and then renew it next March so, in effect, it's continuous. Or wait a month or so and just hope for the best. Have you paid upfront for the whole thing?

Hi, no we've paid a £500 deposit is all.

Travel date is 22.4.21 so 5 or 6 weeks til we can book single trip I'm guessing.

One of the sites I looked at this morning said at the top of the quote page that they weren't currently offering insurance against coronavirus delays & disruptions, so I'm wondering if insurance will be less cover for more money over the next few weeks.

Just wait & see I suppose.

Yes, wait and see is probably the best option.
I'm not surprised that companies aren't offering coronavirus cover at the moment as it's a known hazard that is widespread. What worries me is that insurance companies will take a big hit over all the cancellations going on currently and to recoup that, premiums will rise massively going forward. :grimace:
