We agree on something! People should be told that they are only taking a certain amount of certain products through the til on any one shop, and this should be enforced with extra security because there is always one (or more) greedy selfish **** who is going to kick off and make a big scene, they should be banned from the shop, see how that helps their End of The World plan, and persistent "bulk-buyers" should be treated like shoplifters and removed as soon as they are spotted on camera (unless they have mental health issues of course, then their support workers should be contacted to deal with the situation) They used to enforce the ten items per basket express till rule for Gawds sake, surely the government can get a grip on this soon. Actually I think the reason they don`t is because it spreads further panic, visions of South American food lines and breakdown of law and order etc.lisyloo said:
In china people were allowed out to shop.ProDave said:SWMBO works in a shop. The shelves are bare of essentials. Sales are only up 21% So if this is typical the average shop cannot cope with a 20% increase in demand. I suspect the increase in demand (were the stock to be there to buy) is more like 100%The "problem" is we are being told to get ready to self isolate, and also being told not to stock up on food. Okay if that's what you want then just WHAT is your plan to feed all these self isolating people then? In the absence of clear guidance, people make their own plans. If people self isolate then food deliveries can be made to their doorstep.
the shops should just stop serving people who are bulk buying, not just ask nicely.0 -
So UK the government has made it official three month holiday on rent and mortgages0

Can't see anything for rent. Seems to just be a mortgage holiday. Effectively you can add three months to your mortgage if you need to.0

MILLIONS of renters will be prevented from no-fault evictions, the government has announced today.
Landlords will be banned from turfing out tenants without a good reason under the new plans.

Renters should be helped, and even without the government intervention I will have no problems in letting off all my tenants 2 weeks rent for good never to be paid back should they get the virus or have to self isolate, and 2 weeks is all they need, anymore than that is a p*** takeivavoucher said:MILLIONS of renters will be prevented from no-fault evictions, the government has announced today.

On the forum HPC.co.uk they are celebrating this news. They are delighted! They believe that their coffers will swell while their landlords shrivel like unpleasant prunes.
They are looking forward to this!!1
