Holiday insurance query

Myself and my husband have booked a holiday for ourselves and our children to Portugal in May.
We didn’t book a package however he booked the flights on one card and I paid for hotel on my credit card separately .
I’ve read the recommended travel insurance on here in regards to cancellations in the case of corona virus and was about to book family cover with Leisure Guard insurance but my query is this... if flight or hotel or both are cancelled would we both be able to claim from the one insurance policy?
eg could he claim the flight money back and I the hotel or would we need to pay for 2 insurance policies as we booked separately on different cards?
Hoping someone can shed some light!
Many thanks!!
