Finance Options (0% Purchase Card)

in Credit cards
Evening all!
Basically, wanting to buy a new gaming PC (£2,903) from a known company online. I've £1,800 saved and wanting £1,1103 on credit.
Said company offers finance but it'd cost £1,000 in interest. So, I've applied for a Sainsburys 0% purchase card (got 19 months) to avoid paying extra. Trouble is the credit limit is £1,200 and the machine is £2,900. Now, the ideal solution would be split payment (DC for 1,800 rest on CC). However, the company doesn't allow split payment options from two different methods (has to be all debit cards or all credit cards - weird - since either way they're getting a sale and paid full?
My question is (TLDR): Can you load funds onto a credit card? Say pay £1,800 on my purchase credit card (that's balacnce is £0) and have the full total on my CC with some on credit and the rest in funds?
Have searched the forums but many threads had out-dated links or broken links so thought i'd refresh the question.

You can, but it's a breach of terms. They may block or close the account.0

Maybe if you call your credit card company and explain the situation, they may do a temp increase in your creidt limit to make the purchase and then pay off the £1800.It's worth a shot?0

May be a bit simplistic but can't you get your Gaming PC from another company that DOES allow split payments and carry out your preferred choice of payment. Surely there is more than one company who sells the PC you want, at around the same price ( maybe even one which does 0% finance ). I'd give it a good google, Ray. All the best.0

Have you actually got your card and notification of your credit limit?
Might be a coincidence but £1200 is the figure used by all cards to indicate the cost of borrowing for comparison purposes.1 -
Yeah, it was on website £1,2000 for 22 months or something and I only got 19 months which isn’t a problem - I hope to clear it within 5-7 months anyway.SuperAllyB said:Have you actually got your card and notification of your credit limit?

but I’ve received the card, activated it and already purchased something for £300 and paid it off instantly to show good credit then requested a limit but they said the same as TOS won’t consider any increase in limits for 6 months.
Are other companies but others seem to have hit-or-miss reviews and this company I’ve used 3 times previously and always brilliant.
Cheers all.0 -
The £1,200 is the representative example. Did you check what limit you were actually given?
The immediate purchase and clearance may have been a mistake as it's odd behaviour, but it probably won't have a big impact as you wouldn't expect an increase in limit immediately on opening an account.0 -
Yeah, the £1,200 was the example and estimated based on figure but it's also what i got offered as my limit as well.Deleted_User said:The £1,200 is the representative example. Did you check what limit you were actually given?

I've other cards with 3K and even a 6K limits (i normally buy on CC for Section 75 and pay off immediately or in 3 months) but they've high APR on purchases. I'm aware it seems super sketchy to want a limit increase immediately that's why i was happy to pay £1,800 cash first but seems no CC providers allow this minus Egg used too but as we know, Egg's gone.0 -
Why do you need to spend £3k on a PC?? £1500 PC usually decent enough.
Do the company accept paypal?
I have done purchase with part pay with credit within paypal account & pay the rest with credit card.
you could load £1800 cash into paypal and pay the rest with credit card.
But you may loss section 75 if you pay through paypal.0
