Flights via Italy

So according to Alitalia's flight tracker for our journey, we are now booked onto a different flight out. Just contacted our flight agent and they don't know anything about it. They're checking with the airline and will come back to me. 

New flight is 2 days later than the original, but the real kicker is the London to Rome portion is scheduled for 16:55 on Saturday 28th March, and the Rome to Tokyo portion? 14:55 on the 27th!

If it is accurate then I don't know how Alitalia expect us to take the 2nd leg of the trip almost 36hours BEFORE the 1st leg is due to take off!! 

There's a lot of lessons learned with this trip. Definately more research needed before we book, but also I think for a trip of this magnitude, next time we will just get the flights through the same agent we get hotels ect through. Might be pricier but we have that much extra protection.
