Vueling are not cancelling the flights so therefore not refunding. If you don’t take the flight it’s your choice. They say on Facebook etc that they are following EASA guidelines which have not been updated since 4th Feb if you look at their website so not up to date with the Italy situation. Very irresponsible and just looking for profits. Sister company to BA - I will not book with either again.

I suspect Vueling will issue new guidance shortly. The situation in Italy is changing daily/hourly and only today seemed to ramp up with a whole new set of restrictions.  Check their website over coming days.

With regard to Expedia, if you booked flexible terms for your hotel then I would expect that you can change or cancel with a refund.  If however you booked the non-refundable option then as the name suggests no refund. It’s not a case of Expedia being ‘less than useful’. They can really only follow the booking terms agreed or any waiver the hotel wishes to give you.

It's true that Vueling were flying into the last third of March; but they were also handing out advice much earlier in the month about changing your flight details if you didn't want to fly on your original date/s. They STRONGLY advised changing flight dates in an e-mail I received from them on Friday 13th (sic) March, and further advised using the online/web-site to make any changes, rather than phone the company. Only problem, as I discovered, was that when I (finally - took well over an hour to get to the all-important screen) arrived at the "Change of Flight" screen option, it was disabled, with a message saying "This option is not available". Please see my posts in reply to another Vueling thread that commenced on 16 April through "frankiejay".

This is an old post and old thread. The OP never returned anyway.
