    LOL @Slinky !
OP, I quite agree. Your girlfriend is not responsible in any way. I agree- I'll bet the conveyancing clerk mixed you up with another party. I can't add anything other than to say I shall keep all crossed for you both. Please do update us. Good luck.

Sorry to be the grammar police for the others in the thread, but should of, would of, shouldn't of and so on is just really, really poor English. Shoud've or would've. Should have or would have. If I had been asking for advice and people were using grammar like that, I'd be completely ignoring anything you said. And no, I'm not the spelling police, because everyone can't spell.
Never understood this. It's a forum. Absolutely no need to correct anyone's spelling or grammar or to provide a free English class.
I’m fairly sure that the OP has been saying a few French words over the last few days too!

The vendor(s) must be extremely perturbed as well. Having progressed with the sale and purchase on the basis of a confirmed offer for their property.
  • Glad things are looking good OP
I had a survey with Santander on a Monday a couple of months ago and got the mortgage offer the very next day - I found them excellent
    Fingers crossed for you both
( not your girlfriends fault under any circumstances )

  • Well done on getting that sorted... Phew!
With hindsight perhaps the conveyancer was suffering from Covid. It was building up back in March.
