Holiday booked to Sicily - am I covered?

Shortly before news of the outbreak in Italy, I booked a holiday to Sicily (flights with easyjet, hotel with LastMinute) and took out travel insurance with RAC. Since seeing the updated FCO advice this morning advising against all non-essential travel, I have contacted EasyJet who say the flights are still going ahead. Obviously they work from a script but refused to acknowledge that the advice said not to travel.
I haven't been able to get through to my insurer for hours - likely others are having the same issue. What are the chances that my insurance will cover the flights and hotel? Has anyone else been in this situation today?

I doubt anyone other than your insurer can give you a definitive answer, so keep trying them.nathanp492 said:Shortly before news of the outbreak in Italy, I booked a holiday to Sicily (flights with easyjet, hotel with LastMinute) and took out travel insurance with RAC. I suspect if it's only advice not to travel, as opposed to an outright ban, your insurance won't pay out, but you'll have to wait and see what they say.0 -
