Klarna financing and Micro scooters

in Credit cards
I recently bought a Micro scooter for my sons birthday. When checking out I was offered the chance to pay in 30 days using Klarna. I had no issue paying then, but thought why not, as it states "with no extra cost". So a month later I pay using my credit card. A week later I see a cash transaction fee for £4.99 on my card balance. I ring and query it. Apparently as it is a finance agreement they treat it as cash, I can also expect to face interest on it until the full balance of my card is paid. I have rung micro scooters and currently awaiting a call back. On investigation I discover that Klarna are well aware, that some card providers (Tesco, Halifax and Bank of Scotland) are doing this and instructs for me to raise a dispute with my card provider. I also realise that Micro scooters are breaking the Consumer rights act 2015. It should state (some card providers will charge for this service). I will be asking for my fees to be paid and that they change their wording to save others. I thought it would be worth posting here too for anyone else.

No one of breaking the consumer rights act. Klarna state that some credit card companies see this as a cash transaction.
Your issue is not with the retailer who got nothing to do with it and not really with Klarna but with the credit card issuer.0 -

Why would a retailer be aware that a credit co (Klana) you are being passed to might get charged a fee when paying by credit card.
Most people taking credit would pay off by debit card. As they do not have access to a credit card.
Also be aware that by taking credit via this 3rd party you are losing out on your credit cards S75 and chargeback rights.Life in the slow lane2
