Travel Insurance with Gadget Cover

For the last few years I have always purchased travel insurance with gadget cover from Ryan Air when I booked my flights.  On returning from a trip in October 2019 I needed to make a claim for damage (cracked screen) to my iPad...it fell onto a tile floor when I dozed off with it on my knee :s .  Ryan Air Insurance asked me to provide a 'written authoritative report'  which I obtained from Apple.  They dragged their feet for weeks before eventually coming back with the following refusal -
  • [The subscribed insurance policy excludes the reimbursement for the reason described in the following exclusion:
SECTION D PERSONAL EFFECTS, TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION AND DELAYED BAGGAGE
    What is not covered:
    i. any breakage of fragile articles, unless the breakage is caused by fire or an accident involving the vehicle in which you are being carried.]
I have complained 3 times but still keep getting the same quote back, my point to them is that I had gadget insurance and that I don't believe an iPad is particularly fragile as it is in daily use and will not break under normal circumstances.  I have complained to the Ombudsman but would like to know if others have had any similar experiences with any travel insurance and if anyone has had a successful claim.
