Change date on flights or wait to see if they get cancelled?
Hello,
I was hoping someone could provide some advice? I have a flight booked with Easy
Jet to Rome Italy on 17th April. They are not showing as cancelled yet but I
think they will get due to the Corona Virus and the complete lock down of Italy. I was considering changing the dates to
September but it will cost me over £120 to change the dates.
I was wondering whether it will be a better option to wait to see if the
flights get canceled? As I think I would be given the choice of changing the
dates free of charge?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Many thanks

I have seen an anecdotal example today of people due to fly this week with Easyjet. They are still being told that the flight will go ahead so they can't change it without paying. In contrast BA has cancelled today's flights to Italy.donnaMBoj said:Hello,

Easyjet has cancelled a lot of flights, but not as far ahead as you're flying. I'd wait and see what happens. A lot could change, either way, between now and 17th April.0

As others have said, a lot can change, it's 5 weeks away, and the situation changes daily.
If you change now you pay the £120.
If you wait and the flight is cancelled you get a full refund, or potentially a change for free.
If you wait and the flight doesn't get cancelled, then you can either travel to Rome, or pay to change the flights nearer the time (which might cost more than it does today).
Unfortunately nobody has a crystal ball....0 -
As above. You flight is a way off yet. I would personally wait and see if the airline cancels and offers a refund. I suspect this will be the case or a travel waiver offered.0
