Sun shining, very little wind, OH says we are to get some rain later. I dreid my laundry on the line yesterday, first time since about october!!
Hair cut , my hair is starting to curl, need to go to the post office as well whilst we are out. Then a wiltsire FF delivery.
No plans for the rest of the day, cleaner is here tomorrow, I managed to lose 50p the other day, think it may have gone under the big relaxa chair, she will move it for me so we can see what treasure might be under there.
Mince and tatties for supper. Yesterday OH managed to choke again, this time on a piece of potato despite having his new knashers.......I am more than a bit fed up, its one thing after another with him.12 -
Morning all, it was wet and windy overnight, now just overcast and windy. I saw a robin being blown off-course on it's way to the birdtable. Garden is coming to life a bit more but I'd really like a couple of fine days to work on it.
Plumber identified the leak and will prepare a quote.
The electricity tripped out for no known reason yesterday, several times. Not the lights just the things that plug in. After a few hours the oven consented to work again but since we don't know the cause, I'm slightly worried that it might go again. Managed to reset the oven clock but it is a tricky one and I've managed to set it 3minutes fast. Then ma n aged to get some work done.
Dumpling I hope your daughter has a lovely day.
RedRuby good wishes for today.
Bella RedRuby has suggested what I was thinking, hope things work out.
Hope everyone has a good day
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back14 -
Morning all.
Respect Camelot! If I ever went for an early morning swim I would so safe in the knowledge that my day couldn't get any worse.
bella, the ramifications of your DD2's wedding are incredible. Hope you can get something sorted.
TA, you are so right about the Americans inflicting their mad ideas about how to separate us from our money on to us. From Mother's Day we now have Father's Day, Grandparents Day, Next-Door-Neighbour-But-One's Day, Womens Day, Proms, Haloween and so on and so forth. None of these were known when I was growing up.
And as for misbehaving computers, I am fortunate in having a little tech support firm near me and they will always sort me out for the price of a homemade cake. And they know better than to use words like 're-boot' in front of me.
Dumpling, happy birthday to Phoebe. I thoroughly approve of her birthday treat meal. I hope you enjoy it too and don't beat yourself up for eating it. I thought of you the other day when I read, "Not only did I fall off the diet wagon, I dragged it into the woods, set fire to it and used the insurance money to buy cup cakes."
Well, I did do some housework yesterday. I moved a few messes from one room into another, wandered around waving a fluffy thing on the end of a stick, did a few swipes with a damp cloth and vacuumed the bits of carpet I could see needed it. Job done. Don't know why people make such heavy weather of house-cleaning. The trick is to keep your standards just low enough. My grandmother will be spinning in her grave.
Try to enjoy today, whatever you are doing.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.16 -
Bella, what other people have said. Both my two had registry office weddings then "dos" elsewhere. Chris and Crystal didn't even exchange rings and wore jeans to the registry office and then had a beautiful do in Italy.
On top of my problems with this site I had trouble with my Kindle yesterday. The home screen and library were both blank and in the end I had to do a factory re-set. That meant I lost all my collections and I have to download everything again, grr.
Sis-in-law goes home today so we have to take her to the station at MK.14 -
morning all! I went ot the prtiners and printed the booklet for the instructions so it looks a lot more professional that a hastily printed internet copy with el cheapo paper and ink..I'm well chuffed. Hope she is too or I'll have to kill her. J/K...actually, no, I will....The wool came this morning too. So I'm almost prepared. It's windy and raining again but I'm stil going to go out to the docs and fetch the thing from the printers. Yesterday when I got back I was so cold that even ptting the fire to burn and the heating on at the same time failed to warm me up for a good few hours. Think I've got snot-face's lurgy. It's time to get all the seeds out again and pore over them to decide what's going in...I think some of them need a reboot, they're mostly heritage but I've been noticing a falling off in qulaity the last few years. Totally got distracted then and went and ordered some seeds, went a bit mental and bought a few varieties I know I've grown before that were lovly. Gosh , I think I'm just having constant brain farts....Nelski, well thank invisible people that your nurse was on the ball and acted so quickly. Good to hear it's gone down. And congrats on navigating the garage of doom! See how much youve improved if you can do that? Ingneous babe, just igneous....[it should be metamorphic apparently but that doesn't have the same instantly recognisable rock like quality]...Gers, I bet that was a bit of a shock, being woken up like that. I think I'd have grabbed my bamboo stick [ very thick and rock hard, found in house when we moved in] to scare any intruders off and then been adenalined to the max and unable to do anything but shake! TA, say goodbye to your cafe shop owners from me too, it's been nice to hear you've been so well served by them for years. And a shame they're closing. Monna, laughed out loud at the diet thing...dumpling, moderation in all things etc...:) AOD, hope it styas on today! Hey all readers...hope you lot are ok...Toasty [hopefully] Tuesday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13

Afternoon allThe weather is awful, it's that mizzling, driving rain, but I feel better today and I think my cough has broken at last. Hurrah !!!This morning I remembered to get to the surgery then I went up to town, as I needed to replace a bottle of medicine and get some flour. I was on the floor in Tes*o as it was right at the back on the bottom shelf and after I'd risen an elderly lady asked if there were any more. So I did my good deed for the day and got back on the floor for her. I forget that I'm old now too
( I can get down no problem but the getting up is, but I could have always called for the fire brigade
). This afternoon will be pottering about and the washing basket is full again ( I don't know who is filling it when I turn my back but I wish they would stop it !! ) so the WM will be going on. I will empty the DW when it's finished too.
Not looking forward to tomorrow as it's Mr Fix It's oncology appointment with another new oncologist, this is his 3rd. Please keep your fingers crossed that it will not be a bad one.Monna I love the diet thought. I may just have to print that out ! Thank you you made me smile.Nelski I'm so glad you got your BP sorted so quickly. Good work on sorting the electrics and facing the trek though your garage. You'll be tackling Everest next !BellaB I'm so sorry about the wedding. I hope you can get something sorted asap.TA hope you can find another lunch rendevous.Dumpling happy birthday to Phoebe and hugs to you.RedRuby good luck for today. Hope it goes well.taff sorry you have the lurgy but I hope you didn't catch it from me.Take care all. Hugs to the poorly ones or those having a bad time.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Good Afternoon to you All. Yesterday I couldn't get on this site at all, or I just got the front page followed by a grey the site is unavailable sign whenever I clicked on anything. Now it's working perfectly - it's a shame I missed yesterday as I was just beginning to get a feel for some of your names and personalities, so forgive me if I'm still at the muddling you all up stage!
Dumpling - I hope your daughter has a really lovely birthday
BellaB - I was talking to an old school friend this morning, her son's big wedding is set for Lake Garda in early June, we think he's going to have to make other arrangements.
Monna - I love your housekeeping advice, I am going to apply it to my ironing pile, it's best if I don't make too good a job of it and raise the family's expectations.
Nannyw - Will keep my fingers crossed for Mr Fix It.
Here I could definitely see signs of Spring when we walked to the Post Office, took the long way home across the heath and the gorse was in bloom with that lovely coconutty smell. Having said that now the wind is howling and it's tipping down........
