Tamworth or Nuneaton - Young Family

Hi all,
I' m looking to buy a new build 4 bed home as the family is growing. I currently live in Birmingham, work from home while the Mrs works in Central Birmingham. We are looking at properties in/around Birmingham and have gone further to Tamworth and Nuneaton. Can anyone kindly help us in making this decision based on experience?
Tamworth or Nuneaton?
Below are links of the properties we are looking at. Tamworth development is somewhat close to River Anker/Tames but we've been reassured the flood plan is in place and the area has never been flooded. Wasnt flooded in the recent Storm Dennis.
Nuneaton looks appealing to us but commute to Central Birmingham might take its toll at some point. Though there are options to work from home
1. TAMWORTH

Hi,
I can't comment on Tamworth but my BF lives in Nuneaton and we are looking to buy our first home together there.
He commutes to Birmingham grand central daily by train. His current house is out of walking distance but there is a pay and display car park outside of Dunelm. It's a long stay car park, just over the road from the station entrance, and you can buy a pass from the council online.
I wouldn't recommend driving to Birmingham as the traffic gets very bad.
The house you're looking at is in a really nice part of Nuneaton, you will be close to the town centre (not too close though) and there are lots of other areas nearby to explore.
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions and I'll try my best to help

I much prefer the Tamworth house, there is a similar Bellway home at Kings Norton - have you looked there?
The Nuneaton house loses 1/4 of downstairs to the garage!
Nuneaton is not great for road links in my experience but I’ve only been there a couple of times.

That really helps, the train station is about 4/5mins drive. I'll look more into the long stay carpark/council. I will PM you for local Nuneaton info. Thanks.0 -

Current properties out there seems a bit on the high side for me at the moment. Thanks @Doozergirl

@SharkMoney. Many thanks, I too indeed like the Tamworth but just not sure about flooding issues in Tamworth. See screenshot below, the development has both River Anker/River Tame close to it.SharkMoney said:Desmind_tutu said:Hi all,I' m looking to buy a new build 4 bed home as the family is growing. I can't add much with regards to a comparison with Tamworth or the houses, but we've been renting in Nuneaton for almost 6 months now.
I drive to work near Oldbury/West Bromwich 4 days a week. It usually takes about an hour, give or take a few mins. Obviously there are occasionally accidents on the M6 which either leads to a delay or an alternative route (e.g. the road way via Coleshill/joining the M6 at a later junction). I assume with travelling into central Birmingham (by car) your partner would take the A38(M) exit off the M6 - per Bertles' post, this exit is usually queueing heavily of a morning, although I'm not sure how long it takes to get through as I carry on past that exit.
As Bertles has pointed out, there are pay and display car parks with season passes outside Dunelm/Empire Gym. There is also a multi-storey with season passes on Harefield Road. I have got the train into Birmingham on a weekday morning a few times and it has been on time and only takes around 30 mins.
I think there is another new build development on Weddington Road (slightly to the North of Nuneaton) and Horeston Grange is also pleasant from what I have seen, although I'm guessing you have already had a look at what's available!
Best of luck and feel free to let me know if you have any questions I might be able to answer

What's the square footage of those two houses?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

@Desmind_tutu see how close it is on the environment flood maps. If it’s in a blue zone I would personally avoid.0
