Bike storage in allocated parking

We bought a flat recently and we have an allocated parking slot. We want to use the wall space around of slot to install bike racks and store our bikes. It wouldn't obstruct anyone's passage in any way it but I'm wondering if I'm allowed to do it? Thanks

Do you mean a freestanding rack that sits in the space... or something that's fixed to the structure of the building around the space? The latter is definitely going to need freeholder permission. The former shouldn't, but you should read the lease in case it specifies the spaces are only to be used for parking cars.

The lease should tell you what you can and can't do with the parking space - have you checked? It's possible that literally the only thing you can do with it is park a car.1
