Morning all,
Sunny here today, and that means that if I don't want to feel guilty about not making the most of it, I have to force myself into at least a modicum of activity. Rats!
Camelot I know just what you mean by taking a week to think about doing something that takes 10 minutes when you get down to it. Story of my life.
Glad to see that you beat the Password Monitors TA. What gets me is when they say sniffily, "That password is already in use," and I am screaming, "Yes. BY ME, you stupid creatures!"
Gers, all the more credit to you if you've had a tricky relationship with your DM and you still gave up everything to look after her. I am full of admiration for you. Have fun with your dishwasher and oven. I have just had a new kitchen and although it is tiny, I have managed to fit in a small dish washer and (my pride and joy) a 'hide and slide' oven. I have also had lots of drawers rather than cupboards. It is so much easier to open a drawer and get something out than having to root around in the back of a low cupboard. It's worth thinking about as you get older.
dp1, love to hear stories of your granddaughter. What a little fighter. Enjoy your Dad's birthday. It is sobering to realise that I am approximately the same sort of age as your parents. I still think of people in their 80s as very old, and nothing at all like me!
Nelski, you are right to watch your BP. My mother had high BP for years which her doctor always thought had something to do with her vascular dementia. It terrifies me as I also suffer from high BP and have done all my adult life. So swallow those pills religiously!
Hope all is well with those who haven't posted yet and have as good a day as possible. I'm off to wave a duster about.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning (just).
A plumber came this morning to diagnose the source of a leak in the bathroom and to quote, I think he's identified it so hopefully that will be sorted out soon. Just before he arrived, something tripped some electrical circuit thinger with the result that the oven stopped working after a couple of hours it started working again. Mystery gremlins is my view. I'd just supplied a hot cross bun for OH but had to have mine cold and it was not nearly as nice.
I am meant to be writing a report but there is no urgency and I've done most of it. I am out of motivation.
Happy Birthday to Gers' mum and dp1's dad.
MollyWindley I don't deserve a well done as I was brought up in Norfolk. I still regard Norwich as home even though I've not lived there for 50 years, my family moved the year I went to uni.
Dumpling can your physio put some pressure on the HA?
Nelski I am very impressed by your determination.
Hope everyone has a good day, what's left of it.
I really don't like thisnew formatI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back11 -
Morning! Just! I've played Hearthstone [ rank 14 for anyone that cares] needs to be a bit higher than that though to get any worthwhile goodies...I've had muesli and a banana, and now I'm going to shower, get dressed [obviously] then go to town to get a pattern printed. I've bought some wool for a Janie Crow crochet thing for a friends birthday but the instructions are in a pdf. I know a printer vaguely so will go and see how much it is to get it printed in colour in a booklet. I did get her something similar from Attic24 a while ago but the blanket was so big it took her about a year to finish it
This one is a lot smaller....
OH is still painting little men, he's doing a bunch of them for a friend and a board game that's played using them, it'll probably only take him another few weeks to do the rest [ where's the eeek! emoticon?] They're so fiddly and tiny I need glasses to see the detail.Someone is giving away a fig tree but I'd have to dig it up and I have no idea how big it is or how it'll transplant, but I have had success with everything else I've dug and replanted so they're sending a pic later so I can gauge how big it is and whether it'll be worth it. I have always wanted a fig tree....The monster aloe has been soaking all night and is now full of water again so I can begin to transplant the babies and also sort out the lean to for my incipient tomato seedlings. The celery I planted last year is still alive in the garden so I'll leave them to flower this year and keep the seeds for cooking.I also found a tip on how to get rid of water stains on wood last night using an iron and a tea towel so I tried it out on the hallstand and blow me if it isn't miles better already. Will have to get back on that after.TA, yeah, I end up like a jack-in-the-box when they're are workmen around, I never know quite what to do with myself so I hover...Hope they come quickly and leave just a rapidly...Gers, happy birthay to your mam, hope she enjoys the fizz...and don't pick the cheapest because it's the cheapest, buy one that's going to workshe's on a roll! yay! happy birthday to dp1's father too. Nanny, hope the lurgy is going. Nelski, yep, I can see how both things are worrying, are you on tablets for that or are they not doing anything at all about it yet? Prod them if they aren't. Mightily. And if the terrorist removes you, then you know you must be well on the road to mended because they wouldn't leave you in the lurch otherwise? Which means yay, you are still granite! Monna, in total agreement re drawers. Mine is though because I hate cupboards where you put something in it at the back, forget about it and then have to rootle around on the floor to find it again when you do need it. I'm also holding out for a larder with lots of open shelves...No idea if that's feasible though... snoozer, I think I'd like ot give an Aga a go but I also concur with not cooking on it all the time...Ruby, I didn't even know JL was into that sort of thing! But yes, good job getting rid of them...
Hey all reading along, stay sfae out there...Mellifluous Monday....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12 -

I had the same password problem! I'm also having Kindle problems since it had a software update a few days ago. The home screen is blank and it won't let me access my library. Of course it will go through to the store ok, but at least I could then access the book I'm reading by finding it in the store and clicking on read now. It's the new Hilary Mantel, third of her Wolf Hall trilogy - I absolutely loved the first two but I think this one is a tad self-indulgent, hopefully it will get better.9

Hello all. I too had trouble with MSE sign in. GRR!I had an awful night coughing, had trouble catching my breath a few times ( normal for me ) and when I did sleep I was taking a cat to the vets. I know who to blame for that story line
Unfortunately it had cancer
that story belongs to Mr Fix It because we are due at the hospital on Wed. Oh ! and we've just learnt lunchtime that there is a C.Virus case in there too
Maybe they will cancel his appointment, but probably not as they have already rung this morning and moved the time.
We had to go to town this morning to visit the BSoc and Mr Fix It needed to go to Mountain Ware*ouse for a new portable camping stove as they were on offer. I needed milk so I went into As*a and had a wander round. Plenty of food in there although some shelves were looking depleted, usual stuff no powdered milk or antibac products and only a few T rolls mainly. I needed to call in the surgery on the way home and I forgot, how dull am I ? No don't answer thatThis afternoon I will fill the DW and press the button and later put the bins out. ( we've already had notification from the council that they may all stop bin collections )Happy birthday to Gers DM and dp1's dad.AOD I hope the plumber can shed some light on things.Dumpling and Nelski many hugs to you both.TA hope you get your cupboard sorted ready for the new meter. Hope he turns up too, unlike DSiL's.Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -

Thanks for all the good wishes for DM, she's had loads of cards, a huge bouquet of flowers from crossword friend and a lovely little pile from another friend. I passed the 'soft boiled egg' test and DM was delighted, I've always refused to do one as they inevitably end up hard. This time I put a timer on it.What a morning - builders first, huge bouquet next, upholsterer after that, more flowers, postie and a long chat with a colleague in Manchester. Now I've fed DM again, let the builders back in from their lunch break and watched in horror as large planks of wood were brought in.The chair repair will cost an eye-watering amount of money, it's a very good old chair and DM doesn't want it thrown away.10
