Withdraw home insurance claim

Hi all
I recently made a claim on my home insurance for accidental damage on my carpet and paid the £300 excess. Now that a week or so has passed the carpet doesn’t seem so bad so I’d like to withdraw the claim. Does anyone know if I can do this and get my £300 back? The claim has not processed to the point that the insurer has had to pay out any monies.

You shouldn't have a problem doing this but it may still effect future premiums and will have to be declared

I've recently claimed on house insurance and during the claim process was told that if I wanted to withdraw the claim at any time e.g. because I found I could get the repairs done more cheaply than expected, just to phone them.
