No house deeds

We purchased a house in October and moved in in January. All paper work and exchanges are done. We haven't however, received any deeds. Our solicitor did send us a digital copy of the register of title showing myself and my wife as registered proprietors. Is this normal? Should we expect any deeds?

That's all the title deeds are now, a scrappy bit of paper.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2

Deeds don't have any legal standing for registered property. The land registry shows your legal ownership.2

All normal. You might like to register at Land Registry, which would alert you if any changes were attempted on your deeds (which is where fraudsters try to sell your house).

I did this when I bought my house, not for any "fears", just out of nosiness and idle curiosity. When I did sell my house I did receive a couple of alerts.
As you can set one up for any address, I also registered my sibling's address, again, idle curiosity ... and, if she ever decides to sell, I expect to get alerts for that too... just in case she doesn't mention it as we don't speak more than 1-2x a year.1
