John Lewis Credit Card & CAA (Thomas Cook)

Booked a package holiday from Jetline Holidays using a John Lewis credit card including Thomas Cook flights. Once Thomas Cook collapsed Jetline said you need to pay more money to go. i refused and after advice from John Lewis cancelled the holiday as the extra ,money was too much. Now both John Lewis and CAA have refused to pay any compensation as Jetline offered alternative flights even though at exorbitant prices! What do i do now to reclaim the mooney?

Is it ‘compensation’ or a refund you are seeking? If compensation, for what?

Your issue is with Jetline, your contract was solely with them, and they haven't failed so I can see why the CAA has said 'no'. Jetline, however, has a legal obligation to refund all the money you paid, as shown on your invoice. There is never an obligation to pay more when an airline fails if you have bought a package holiday, the operator, Jetline in this case, has an obligation to replace the flights or offer a full refund. Write to Jetline and say they have 14 days to refund your money or you will formally report them to the CAA. I fear you may not be the only person in a similar situation
