Struggling to get a bank account

I had problems a couple of years ago when my bank account was closed due to fraud even though it was not me committing fraud it was someone who managed to use my account to do so. Now I seem to have been blacklisted or something by every bank in the country and can’t even open a basic account or cash account with banks like metro. All I have is a Post Office Card Account solely for incoming benefits payments but no access to direct debit facilities or online banking. Any help would be great but trust me I’ve tried every high street bank and online banks like ThinkMoney etc

Have you checked your credit file (eg MSE credit club) ? If so do you have CIFAS warnings ?

Have you tried Monzo?? I had similar issues - a family member commited a lot of fraud in my name a few years back. I had a volantary CIFAS (I think) marker placed in my name meaning whenever I wanted to open anything in my name, they needed extra security checks to ensure it was me. I struggled for a while after this, and doesn't help it came at a similar time to when I had my own financial problems going on. The only bank I could go with was Monzo, which, TBF they were absolutely fantastic. I apparantly am unable to bank with Lloyds group though, even though this wasn't my fault.

Monzo, Monese, Revolut, there are quite a few.
All of which offer direct debits, online banking (albeit app based) and many features the traditional banks don't.
As long as you don't want credit (overdraft, possible loans, etc) you should have no problems.0
