CCJ That isn’t mine

Please help. I am in the final stages of checks to rent a house for myself and my son. A credit check has shown a CCJ for £3295 that was supposedly served to me in 2016 to an Adress I had moved out of 9 months before hand.
When I phoned the court house to get the details I was informed it was for a dept dating back to 2006, with HSBC. I have never had any contact with HSBC at all. I haven’t even had an account with them.
the court gave me the number of a solicitor who was dealing with it. I phoned them and they have said they are no longer dealing with it.
this CCJ is not mine. So what can I do next to resolve this matter? As it will have a huge impact on my ability to find a home.
any advice will be much appreciated.

Hi Jamie81 and welcome to the forum

If it were me, I would start by sending a SAR to both HSBC (and probably the solicitor too). You can use the letter template and guidance from the ICO (linked below):

I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job
