moving house checklist

Hello everyone,

I just bought my first house. It's a nice 3 bedroom detached house with a large wrap around garden.

As the list of the things I have to do seems overwhelming, I decided to post it here to verify. I would appreciate if anyone can pinpoint anything important that I might have missed.

Here is my list:

1. Notify your current landlord
2. Notify the service providers: Electricity, gas, water, sewerage, telephone. Ask them to send the final bill to the new address. Keep a record of the metrics from the old house and the new house.
3. Notify the local council
4. Notify the TV licensing service: https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/cs/contact-us/index.app
5. One week prior to moving, notify the new service providers: electricity, gas, water, sewerage, telephone. Shop around for a better deal on websites like confused.com
6. Update the address for your bank accounts and driver license

    You could also
    1. Notify any pension providers you have
    2. Update your address details (and emergency contacts) at work
    3. Set up a royal mail redirection
    4. Update your car insurance to the new address
    5. Ensure you have home insurance for the new property from the date of exchange
    6. On the day you move in make note of your meter readings and ensure you pass these on to the existing suppliers
    7. Enjoy your new home!!!!!!!

Both googler and myself have added lists to threads about moving house, and the whole threads are worth reading.
