What is a reasonable budget for a university student

Hi there
My daughter has applied for Birmingham University in September 2020. Outside of the university accommodation what is a reasonable budget we should plan for?
thanks

Sorry , do you mean what budget should she plan for, for a room in a shared house? (or a general budget for everything?

What's included in the accommodation price? Eg last year my son was in halls, the rent included heating, lighting, water, broadband and  insurance. This year he is in shared accommodation and it includes the same excluding insurance. He is in a small town so everything is walkable, otherwise you also need to include travel costs.

Son gets the minimum loan so we pay his rent and leave him to fund living costs out of his maintainance loan. This is mainly grocery shopping and socialising.

We bought his pots, pans, bedding etc when he went but after the first year this all needed topping up as items got lost, broke. I naively thought you bought once for the whole duration! We tend to buy son clothing as Xmas/Birthday presents and stock him up on toiletries as stocking presents.

I think your first step should be what costs will she have.
