My husband has 2 cars and 2 different insurance policies with different companies. Each policy has got their own set of ncb.  Unfortunately he wrote one car off this week and obviously lost his ncb. My question is will he lose them on his other policy also?

No. He'll have to declare the accident when he renews the other policy, and this will likely have an impact on his premium, but he'll keep his NCB on that policy (as he hasn't claimed on it), which will limit the impact somewhat.
