Unfortunately this is the down side of LCC price wars. Initially a flood of cheap but unsustainable seats followed by an operator pulling the plug on a route. In the past LCC's have been careful not to tread on each other's toes but thats all changed now. BCN is the next route to watch carefully. From the New Year there will be 3 operators on it and that is simply too much supply. Jet2 developed the route (like PRG), Easyjet are now operating it and initial loads are very good. Aer Lingus are starting it shortly too.
Aer Lingus have made a concerted effort to rattle the orange cage and it hasn't gone unnoticed but do not expect an 'easy' surrender (there is a new determination amongst the orange team to battle with EI.) Jet2 are stuck in the middle but are probably paying the price for going head to head on some of EZY's Spanish routes last summer. Meanwhile down at the little airport, RYR are watching (frustrated) from the sidelines as their aircraft havn't the performance to compete to Euro destinations from BHD's smaller runway. Of course RYR's answer is for BHD to pay for a bigger runway..wouldn't hold my breath on that planning application.
It's becoming quite a soap opera this. A great pity though that people's travel plans end up compromised as a result.

Got refund......two days ago...guess what, its 12 euro less than I paid!!!
