Thats all good giving you the cash back, but if you booked hotels, taxi's etc then its a problem.
I think thats why you go with a travel company, therefore they take the hit, not yourself.0 -
Nope, not good.....now I have to pay 50% more to someone else, to get to where I want......!0
-
Plus, I paid them instantly......and they give you this...

Did you not get travel insurance?
If you have travel insurance then make a claim.
You will have to pay the excess but that's life and it's hopefully fairly small.
If you don't have travel insurance then I suggest you do it ASAP.
If you need medical repatriation in 10 airline seats plus a nurse then it's cost a fortune so get it sorted NOW.0 -
To be honest, it sounds to me like Jet2 have done as much as they could be expected to do in the circumstances...0

they are quick to take you money, considering you are not travelling until next March and the are collecting the interest on yours and the rest of the passengers money. in circumstances like this the speed on the refund of money should be alot quicker as new arrangements need to be made.0

I went to Berlin with EasyJet in August last year.
I was booked to go out on the Saturday and come back on the Tuesday.
Less than a week before hand I got an email saying the flight out on the Saturday had been cancelled because it didn't have enough passenges booked. I had to be there that particular Sunday and Monday, so my only option was to take up their offer of going out 2 days earlier.
The flight didn't cost me any extra and they gave me a £30 voucher for the next time I wanted to fly with them, but I was out of pocket as I had to pay for 2 extra nights ina hotel.
I had travel insurance but, unsurprisingly, they decided that this wasn't covered.
I gave the £30 voucher to someone else and informed EasyJet I wouldn't be booking with them until I could be confident that my booking would be honoured.
I've heard other reports of them doing this since. I'm no big fan of Ryanair, but at least now I won't have to get the ferry over to Liverpool games.0 -
Jet2 have done this before. A couple of years ago they cancelled our return flight from Barcelona to Belfast. There were 8 of us and we had to go home 2 days later. 2 extra nights accommodation (which we were lucky to get)and 2 days loss of earnings and not a thing we could do about it. It was just tough luck as far as they were concerned. I wrote to the Belfast Telegraph (didn't even get a response) and contacted the Stephen Nolan Show but nobody was interested.Member #7 SKI-ers Club

Well...I won't be booking with them again, the flights with easyjet on similar dates are 75% more!
Plus I will bump this thread up regularly to warn other travellers!0
