I'm off to Zimbabwe in a few weeks, to attend a wedding. It's only just dawned on me that I might need vaccinations before I go.
Has anyone been over before?
Also, can you get vaccinations/malaria tablets on the NHS?

I would expect to pay for vaccinations / malaria tablets1 -
Generally not, we had to purchase our vaccinations from the pharmacy on a private prescription and my gp gave Them

Have you got insurance? There's a chance that a lot of air travel will be cancelled in the coming weeks.1

You may find you've left it a bit late.
Our surgery want 6 weeks notice to decide what vaccinations are required.
You won't get malaria tablets on the NHS.
You can buy online but you need to be sure which ones you need for your destination.

You can buy malaria tablets in Boots without an appointment.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Yeah I have, it is a worry. I'd not be surprised at all if the flats were cancelled.Aylesbury_Duck said:Have you got insurance? There's a chance that a lot of air travel will be cancelled in the coming weeks.

If that's the case then that's fine. I'm not overly worried about catching anything. Just trying to be somewhat sensible.Pollycat said:You may find you've left it a bit late.

It's still worth checking what is recommended (some might even be mandatory, although we've never been anywhere that is), whether you're still covered or not (I keep a record) and seeing if your GP can fit you in.easty said:

Best not to waste a GP's time! Your GP practice may well have a nurse qualified to give advice and order and administer immunisations (mine does). A phone call will establish this. If not then google Travel Clinics' - Superdrug and MASTA have plenty all over the country and can sometimes be cheaper than GP practices too.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....1 -
