  • hey

no one has mentioned them on this post yet but I have recently got in CAP. (Christians against poverty - dont be put off by the name).

They have been amazing. It seems to me like the main problem is the sheer amount you are having to pay out in debt payments and overdrafts. They are excellent at negotiating with creditors and mortgage companies (they have worked the most amazing wonders for me). This is quite often without having to go down an official iva type of arrangement although in some cases this might be best.

Not just that but they give you a support worker, someone to talk to occassionally about stuff when there are bad days during a budget (and we all have them). They also have other amazing resources to help assist you.

Where are you based and I will find out which is your nearest centre?

To find out the nearest centre to you.

From my experience, companies prefer to deal with them than cab who are quite slow at negotiating and depending on which officer you get at cab, you might have to do a lot of the paperwork yourself which is extremely difficult.

Best of luck and well done for trying to sort it out.
