O/S Daily Friday 6 March 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now getting light, doesn't feel as cold as last few morning.s
DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS1 getting ready for work, I'm up, showered, dressed and enjoying first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was HM chicken and mushroom pie, mash, veg and gravy - very nice it was too. Tonight will be something quick and easy.
Yesterday I got done what I needed too, but do have jobs to do that are just beyond me at the moment. Will just do my best.
Keep safe and well x

Morning,
A cold morning, still dark but with a frost it is minus -2 at present, it will not hit 1 until 9am.
It is Friday a quick week, but a stressful week.
Have put the WM on clothes will have to dry on the E/A . I must phone N/Home to see how mom is she was not to good on Wednesday , so I stayed until after tea, no phone call yesterday , so hopefully it was just a few off days.
Must pay a few bills this pm
Have a good Friday All and thanks for starting us off @nmlc

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Minus 2 here also and a thick frost. But at least we haven't had any rain for a couple of days!
The 3 girlies are still in bed but will be to rouse up, feed and water and get organised for school shortly. Last day of the mocks for eldest. Middle one changes schools in September and will be going to the same "big" school as elder sister. Where do the years go, it doesn't seem two minutes since I was changing their nappies when I looked after them!
Once they have been dispatched to school it'll be a quick tidy round then DS coming to take me and Sparkle to the vets. Last day of intense antibiotic course for her today and her chin is looking perfect. But doubtless the allergy of unknown cause will set the infection off all over again as the fostering said happens. Poor little Sparkle. I love her to bits, she's such a character.
A detour into Aldi on the way back home and I hope the shelves haven't been cleared by all the panic buyers by the time we get there! I also need Catsan from B & M, unless the panic buyers have bought all that too!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Thinking of RR and NELS and GERS living in noise and mess. Take care all xxx

Morning All
Cold this morning but bright enough. If I was home I would hang the bedding out but it will hang on the airer today.
That's serious work there Gers!
Hope Sparkle gets on OK at the vets TA.
Sounds like you're getting organised RR.
Keep going Nelski, you're doing so well.
Nothing of note going on here but happy it's Friday as it's my early finish.
Take care. XX13 -
Morning all
Been to the airport to drop DS walked and fed Dolly and DW is on . Had a good night last night in London at the theatre but getting in at midnight and up at 4.30am is not for me I managed to slip over on the pavement yesterday and my hip and shoulder are agony this morning and i managed to have a large graze on my knee luckily i had my thick padded coat on so i think that saved me a bit . Today i am having my hair done and the car is off for a service other than that i am taking it easy with some ibuprofen for company.
Hugs to all those who are unwell or looking after someone who is ill and extra strength to those with worries
Have a great day stay safe and warm xSlava Ukraini14 -
Good morning, and thanks NMLC for starting - hope your back is a bit better. It's frosty and v cold here, but fine and dry. Yesterday was a nice day as well.We went to the big blue and yellow shed and bought a tall thin bookcase for the bedroom from the same range as the other furniture, so it looks nice.DH is going to the tip today, there's quite a pile of stuff, including a very pretty lamp that he tried to repair for a friend, Sadly it was not repairable, bit of a shame it's really nice.I'll go out for some shopping, if, as TA says the shelves haven't been cleared already. There's a bag for the charity shop as well, so I'll get that out of the way.I'm visiting a friend tonight , and that's it really, just the usual day.Thinking of RR and Nelski, and others who may be poorly, or finding life difficultTake care folks15

Good morning, the temperature has just risen to 0° here, I'm cold and oddly tired although I slept well enough.
Not planning a Friday Tidy today as I need to go to work, so I've been attacking mess as I have gone along though not all that successfully.
The washing machine paddles came out mid wash, chewing up 3 pairs of my knickers and 3 of my son`s teeshirts so we have ordered new paddles and I will be able to get some washing done. It has been too wet to wash by hand and dry outside.
Hope everyone has a decent day
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back14 -
Morning all, it's freezing this morning and I've already got the heating going. An early start for me, not by choice either as I have been up all night on the sofa because I've been coughing again. I wish this rhinitis would sling it's hookDon't know what today will bring, but I'm going back to bed now that Mr Fix It is up. Hopefully I can get some sleep.I've seen in the local rag that people have been stripping the supermarket shelves of certain items, some of them random (to me anyway ) because there has been 2 cases of CV in Cardiff which is only 30 miles away. Scary times eh ?On that happy note I'm off to bed
I will pop back later to catch up with today's news.
Take care all. Hugs to the poorly people, parents / children and animals. Gentle hugs to the fally down ones too.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14 -
Morning all
Cold but bright sunshine here today, yesterday is rained heavily here all day so much so that by dinner time the road at the top of our road was flooded it was like a river and all the drains were overflowing and bubbling, the cars were going through it at a normal speed and causing great waves of water, our house is quite high up on a bank so not affected but some around the corner are prone to flooding so I bet they were worried.
I am going to do the weekly shop today (if there is anything left !!) to get it out of the way for the weekend so will go fairly early and hopefully wont be too long. Will have a quick tidy round when I get back but will leave the big clean till tomorrow when everyone is here to help.
Will put a wash on before I go out and empty dw.
Bella hope you are ok after your fall xx
Nels how are you ? xx
Have good days all xx

Morning
Horrible freezing foggy start today but forecast is sunny for later which is a good thing as the terrorist wants to go for a walk today. Wash on and standard tidy to do this morning. Stroke lady came last night 2hrs late and as expected Im not convinced on going to their club meetings. Im really not fond of the idea of swopping war stories with the local stroke victims particularly when she joked you'd be the youngest there by far!! It would be rehab centre all over again I suspect ....but saying that I may give it a try before judging too much ....Apparently they occasionally go bowling......Hold me back!!!
Hope my little welsh zombie is feeling better today if not just have a rest day
Gers wow that's one big job glad they are keeping relatively clean but if not just push it all through the gaps
Rubes glad the bone scan was OK and great reason for a lazy lunch....I love Turkish food
Bella ouch for the fall bet you will ache today
TA Sparkle sounds so cute she landed on her feet with you
ILC hope mum is OK
Made a bacon and mushroom pasta last night so a bit left for brunch then is sausage mash and onion gravy night
Hope everyone has a good Friday and thanks again for all your support its invaluable for me atm

Good morning everyone
It's a bit chilly and damp here this morning but hopefully it will brighten up later. I had a rubbish night's sleep so I was very glad to see daylight. I have a fairly busy day today with 2 sets of visitors and a phone call from Universal Credit. Diet is still going well though so that's a good thing. Pasta and cheese sauce for dinner tonight for me and everyone else is having meatballs and spaghetti. Right, a quick cup of tea and then I will get washed and dressed so I can face the day properly. Hope you all have a great day, take care xx
