Car end of lease fees

Hi,
I returned a car, end of lease (3 year) the other day and I've received a bill for wheel scratch (£100), door scratch (£250) and "no service history" (£525). Total nearly £900! The car is in approximately the same condition as the previous car I had from them, which they waived any extra fees on, i.e. I paid absolutely nothing for wear and tear. I see no discount anywhere for that btw.
Anyway the car was serviced last November as per guidelines. Their complaint is apparently there's no log book stamp. I was under the impression you don't really need one these days as service history is done electronically. This is pretty much what I did with my previous car - no log book stamp but was serviced and apparently they knew it had been done. I assumed the same would be true for this one.
Can anyone explain what's going on here? I've had two cars from the same lease financier, same model, different year, one after the other, both returned in approximately the same condition, both under mileage by a large amount and for one the charges were zero and this second one the charges are £900.
What recourse if any do I have?
Thanks.

If its been serviced and you have evidence of this then it's pretty straightforward to refute that part of the charges.0

I have a copy of the invoice knocking around and if not I can get a copy from the garage presumably. This is all I need to dispute it? But on the other question, are there electronic records? I assumed that's how it's done these days.

k3lvc said:Indeed for many it is - it depends on the brand. Even that doesn't stop there being errors if the online 'book' wasn't updated though
