Lease Car company Tusker failed to collect 1st 2 payments for lease car

Tusker the lease car company failed to collect the 1st 2 payments for lease car. Fast forward 16 payments later, they have now contacted me via a "middle" man on mobile phone to discuss how this could be rectified. They accept that it is a fault on their part. Am I now liable for this amount even though it was their mistake??

    Yes....

Did you not advise them that they had not taken the funds? Which we take it you put aside awaiting them wanting it back?

But make sure everything is done in writing (email is OK) ... no talking with random people over the phone. Or if you do speak by phone, you call them on a number that you know belongs to Tusker.

Let's be honest, with a new lease you'd check your bank account to see if the payments had gone out - when you saw they hadn't, you should have contacted them.
You hoped to win a few quid, the mistake's been noticed and you owe them the money. Wallet out :)
