Avios points....How can I get them transferred ?

Options
I had about 65000 Avios points.
I recently found out that they should have been transferred to a British Airways scheme, but on checking they had not been.
I was then subject to a game of ping pong between British airways and the remaining Avios workers who were supposed to be transferring them.
I eventually got an email from the Avios people on 2/12/2019 saying that if I sent them some information they would sort it out.
I sent the relevant information as requested, and heard nothing.
I sent another email on 9/1/2020 asking what was happening, and guess what...no response.
Any ideas what I should do next ?
Write to the papers maybe ?
Thank you for any help :)

Can you still access your old Avios A/c ? Do you have a BA a/c? You might be able to transfer them yourself
Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA :D
  • Thank you for your reply :)
Unfortunately when I now try and log into my Avios account all I get is this :

"Which programme are you a member of?

The Avios Travel Rewards and Flybe programmes have closed

As part of the closure, most accounts were moved to the British Airways Executive Club."

My account was not transferred anywhere

I would think you will need to open a BAEC account, then contact them and hopefully they will be able to transfer your old account points over?
When was the last time you earned or spent any points? Asking because if an account hasn't earned or spent a point in 3 years it is shut down and the points lost. Avios closed it's programme July 2018 but was transferring points to the new scheme in the months before. Suggesting the latest you could have earned/ spent points was around 2 years ago, or you would have known about this.

I have actually done this, and BAEC told me to contact Avios, who told me to contact BAEC ,who told me to contact .......
Well I am sure you get the idea :)
Unfortunately I cannot now see when I last earned or spent a point, because they have now closed all accounts.
Avios were indeed supposed to be transferring all accounts, but they did not do so with mine.
The last message I got from Avios was as follows :

Thank you for getting in touch.

We are more than happy to look in to your account for you, however, we do require some more information from you for security purposes.

Please could you respond to this email with your full name, first line of address and post code, email address and date of birth.

Once we have this information, we will be happy to assist you with your account.

I hope you have a lovely day.

    Kind regards

    Jade P

That was on 02/12/2019. I sent them the requested information.
I then waited a month, and after having heard nothing, sent them another email, to which they have not replied.
Looks like a lost cause doesn't it ?

You deffo need to have a BA Executive Account to receive any missing Avios. Make sure you have that first. Then ask BA to retrieve them from your old Avios account, or ask Avios to transfer them to your new BA Exec account.
I had this problem trying to find out where my missing Avios from Tesco Clubcard were. They had not reached my BAExec account. Turns out Avios were still holding them in my old account because they didnt have my BA Exec details. Was pretty easily sorted but you do need to have a BA Exec account in place.

Thank you, but I opened a BA Executive account months ago :)
    Here is their response :
    "

Thank you for getting in touch with us about your Avios Travel Rewards balance.

Unfortunately, Avios Travel Rewards are the best place to answer your query. They can be contacted on 0344 493 3349 or by emailing help@avios.com.

I'm sorry I couldn't be more immediately helpful but thank you for choosing British Airways.

    Best regards

And of course you can guess who Avios refer one back to !
