O/S Daily Thursday 5 March 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark and cold start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I've had a bath, and I'm dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was mediterrean pork, veg rice and a side of stir fry veg - I enjoyed DH moaned about the meat - just ignored - can't be doing with it! I'm hoping to use the chicken that hasn't defrosted tonight to make a chicken and mushroom HM pie - will serve that with mash, veg and gravy.
I have stuff to do, now on my days' off, but am still limited to what I can manage so will just do what I can, not going to try and do loads as I know that won't help, there's some improvement so don't want to do too much and slip back.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning and thanks for starting NMLC - yres, be careful with your back, don't do too much.I don't know what the weather's doing this morning, yesterday was a lovely day, plenty of sunshine. It was cold though.I wasn't out at all yesterday, we were putting the stuff back into the back bedroom. We've painted it the same colour, but it's fresh and nice. DH is going to sort through his things with a view to getting rid of some of it. I'll go through the sewing stuff I've got stored in there as well, also my card making things, it's never ending. The trouble is we both have hobbies which seem to need loads of stuff, and we are both readers, so there's a lot of books in the house, I don't know, we'll just have to be ruthless.Anyway I'll stop waffling.Redruby, I'm pleased you can have both your ops at the same time, that's excellent news.Nelski, you are sounding good, those terrorists are working wonders, keep going!Gers, hope you and your Mum are coping, it looks to be a big upheaval.Hope everyone has a good Thursday , take care folks.16

Morning everyone, thanks NMLC for getting us up and raring to go
. Today is grey and wet but calm thank goodness. Already fed kittys and done meditation.
Yesterday I managed to get all my filing done, I should do it as it comes in but it's rather like the ironing for me....it gets left until desperate!
Lots to do this morning, off to the tip then drop some things at the CS. We then have to drop some paperwork into the local council offices and pop into Mr Ice for OF. Me and OF are then off to the pictures. It's a good price before 11 so are going to see Dark Waters starring Mark Ruffalo. Not sure after that, am going with the flow today, see what crops up. Oh yes 4 weekly budget planning to do as OH pay day on Friday so plenty to keep me out of mischief.
Hugs to all those that need them.
Have a joyful day everyone

Aaargh, I've slept in!
Well done Nelski, you'll be skiing soon!
Glad everything is in place RR.
Looks messy Gers!
Trip to Ikea with a friend after work last night was great, didn't buy anything and friend bought me something to eat!
Lovely day weather wise yesterday, hoping for the same today. Take care. XX15 -
Morning all
just popping in to wish RedRuby and Nelski well - you’re both fab. Nice to see Mona on here.
i wanted to add a comment about Spinalonga- we visited when we went to Crete a few years ago - amazing. I recommend a lesser known book The Eagle 🦅 of Spinalonga 😊
Nice to visit you all 😊😘15 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Woke up to a minus temp this morning, Brr. Another dry day forecast but not due to warm up very much.
The Friday Tidy which keeps getting juggled around is on the agenda for today as tomorrow morning is spoken for with both the vets and shopping to do. I cleared the ironing basket yesterday but not much accumulates in there these days.
All 3 girls are back for tea and sleepover tonight so the usual Bolognese Bake is on the menu, timed to be ready for the last one's arrival after swimming. I keep threatening to make something different but I am faced with a riot!
Better get everyone moving so ((HUGS)) for all the poorlies, sad, worried and lonely. Thinking of GERS living amongst all that mess and, of course, REDRUBY and NELSKI coping so well with their health worries. Two very brave ladies. Take care all xxx

Morning lovelies
Back to the good night bad night sleep pattern then...last night was the bad night ho hum.
Not a good day news wise sad to see fly be go I always liked them as a carrier and such a shame for all the staff. On the virus front then self isolation has been pretty much the norm for me lately bar the terrorists so my freezer stocks are pretty high and loo roll is always plentiful in this houseDo wonder if my booked training courses in April will run now will have to see.
Todays plans are to repair my kitchen trolley after a wheel strangely fell off last night (I know the feeling!!) Its fairly essential for me now so will be opening the repair shop later...think I need Taff hereThe stroke association lady is coming round later to discuss the options in the community....not sure how much use that will be when I was in hospital she promised lots of support from the start but no sign of her since not sure a tea dance at the local centre is really my thing but maybe I could show my new moves.
Chilli was lovely last night and a bit left for brunch soon then a carbonara tonight.
have a good day all if you can15 -
Good morning folks.Things didn't move on much yesterday afternoon as the builders moved downstairs to set up the acrow props. They'll be there this morning too before coming back to open up the floor. 😱 That'll be when the noise and dust starts.Got to dash... more later. Hugs to all. Happy Thursday to all.12

Morning all
Pouring with rain here now and blowing a gale not a nice day at all, dd has phoned in sick today as she has been up in the night being sick so her and pup are still in bed, I will leave them till they wake as they had been up most of the night I think.
Its certainly seems a day to stay in the warm and dry but I do need to nip to the shop for a couple of bits and I really fancy a crusty roll for lunch. Jacket spuds for dinner tonight with cold meats and cheese and salad so a nice easy meal.
The bone scan went really well yesterday I had to go in and be injected with a radioactive drugthen go away for three hours and come back, dd and I went into town and had lunch at a new Turkish restaurant it was £10 for a starter and main so we had that it was very tasty, I also had to drink two pints of liquid in the three hours it could have been any liquid and I joked with the nurse saying could it be wine, she said yes anything !! so I had a cheeky glass of wine with my lunch
the scan itself was fine you are not enclosed like an MRI so it wasn't scary at all, will get the results next Friday so fingers crossed.
I also did most of the shopping for hospital yesterday I just need a zip up hoodie so will look online today, you need things that dont have to go over your head after the op and a hoodie seems ideal, trying to get a button up t - shirt with buttons all the way down the front is almost impossible, so I have bought a soft wrap around top which I can just slip my arms into. So I think I am almost there.
Nels keep going sister ! xx
Have good days all xx
